Since May 2008, the fee for all types of German short-term visas, known also as the Schengen visas, is 60 euro. Nevertheless, in many cases you do not have to pay for a visa or can get a visa at a reduced price, depending on your nationality or status.
As of September 1, 2017, the fee for all types of German long-stay visas, known also as the National (D) visa, is 75 euro. However, some specific categories are waived from paying the National Visa fee, whereas some other categories need to pay a lower visa fee, due to bilateral agreements and facilitations for special categories of visa candidates.
