TestDaF Format
Grading Scale
The grades of candidates are marked in terms of three levels, TDN 3 — 5, which correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages levels B2–C1.
Note: Based on the level rating, you can see in which areas your strengths or possibly your weaknesses lie. Then you know in which areas you should improve your German. On your TestDaF certificate, which you will receive approximately 6 weeks after the exam, there are four classifications, one for each exam part. There is no overall grade. Therefore, they can not “pass” or “fail”. You can repeat the exam as many times as you like, but always prepare thoroughly.
