Date and time: 13 July, 2017 at 8:20 am
Hi, this is Sai Kaushik from Hyderabad and my VI was on 13/07/17 and the time slot was 8:20 am. I arrived early at around 7 am but I had to wait until 8:10 am, when they let me in after the security check. No bags, phones, wallets are allowed inside Chennai Consulate.
As I entered the Visa hall, I was handed a checklist by a humble sir and told me to arrange the documents according to the checklist. After arranging the 2 sets of documents, he called out my name and once again checked all my documents whether if they were in order. He asked me 3 photographs, DD and passport.
Then he gave me a token No(which was No7 for me) and told to me to wait for my turn.Out of 4,Only two counters 3 and 4 were working at that time.My number came up at counter no 3.
My Interview went as follows:
My Visa Officer (VO) was an Indian lady. She was in her late 20’s.
Me: Good Morning Ma’am.
VO: Good Morning. (She told me to submit my docs) .Are you a student sir?
Me: Yes, Ma’am.
(She collected my docs and started going through them)
VO: So what are you applying for Sir?
VO: (She started entering the information in the computer)Are you travelling on —-date Sir?
Me: Yes Ma’am.
VO: When is your Course starting?
VO: Did you do any German Language Course?
VO: Is the Course taught in English?
Me: Yes M’aam
VO: What is your B.Tech Specialization?
VO: How much is your B.Tech CGPA/Percentage?
VO:What is your future plan after M.S.?
Me:I am interested in Research and Developing opportunities.
After a few more minutes of the checking, she asked me to give my finger prints.
VO: You will hear from us via email regarding your Visa decision.
Me: Ok, thank you Ma’am.
The interview was around for 10 minutes. But the questions were very few.
The process was very simple.. She was very nice to me.No travel insurance and Education Loan letter needed for 2 sets of photocopies.Only original will do if asked by the V.O. Not much to worry about Chennai Consulate. Just know your basic stuff about the course and to say what are your future plans after Master’s. Don’t get tensed. Be Confident and Go for It!
